Junior Bookkeeper

Tipnol Bookkeeping specializes in delivering top-notch accounting and financial services tailored specifically for cafés, bars, and restaurants. We’re looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Junior Bookkeeper to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with our experienced bookkeepers to help manage financial records, reconcile accounts, and provide critical support to our clients in the hospitality industry. Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records: Update and organize client ledgers and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly.
  • Reconciliation: Perform bank and credit card reconciliations regularly to ensure accuracy in financial statements.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage invoices, payments, and receipts while monitoring overdue accounts.
  • Software Utilization: Use Xero and QuickBooks to manage bookkeeping tasks efficiently and generate financial reports.
  • Payroll Support: Assist in processing payroll for small businesses while maintaining compliance with legal requirements.
  • Communication: Liaise with clients to clarify financial data, resolve discrepancies, and provide regular updates.
  • Excel Reporting: Create and maintain spreadsheets to track client performance and financial summaries.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of bookkeeping experience, preferably working with small businesses or in the hospitality industry.
  • Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Xero and QuickBooks is mandatory.
  • Excel Skills: Strong command of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to spot errors and maintain accuracy in financial records.
  • Time Management: Capable of handling multiple clients and meeting deadlines consistently.
  • Communication Skills: Clear and professional communication, both written and verbal, to work effectively with clients and team members.
  • Education: A diploma or degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
